A single-vehicle motorcycle crash late Sunday* night in San Pierre claimed the life of a Wheatfield man and seriously injured his passenger. It happened just after 11:30 p.m. on U.S. 421.
Starke County Coroner Dannie Hoffer says 53-year-old Joseph Louis Fuentez was killed. He was a highly-decorated federal probation and pretrial services officer who worked at the U.S. Courthouse in Hammond. Hoffer adds the family has been notified.
The crash is still under investigation by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, and the passenger’s name has not been released at this time.
