
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office announced that their recent Drug Take Back Day was a success, with community members safely disposing of 23 pounds of unused and expired medications.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office stated that the event provided residents with a secure way to prevent prescription drug misuse and protect the environment.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day was on April 26th, and was part of a nationwide initiative that is led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (or DEA), in order to combat the opioid crisis and to promote the safe disposal of prescription drugs.
